Pierre Larochelle

Pierre Larochelle

President and Chief Executive Officer

Pierre Larochelle has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Power Energy since 2012. From 2009 to 2018, he was also Vice-President, Investments of Power Corporation.

From 2003 to 2009, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Adaltis Inc. Previously, he held the positions of Vice-President of Business Development at Picchio Pharma Inc., and Vice-President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Credit Suisse First Boston in London, England.

Pierre began his career at the Montréal offices of Ogilvy Renault. He sits on the boards of Power Energy, Nautilus Solar Energy and Bellus Health. He is also a Director and the Chairman of the Board of Lumenpulse Inc., Potentia Renewables Inc. and Lion Electric Company. He is also actively involved in various not-for-profit organizations and serves on the board of directors of the Fonds de développement des anciens et anciennes du Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, of C2-MTL, an annual global conference on the relationship between commerce and creativity, and of the Sainte-Justine Foundation.

Pierre holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Université de Montréal, a Master in International Business Law from McGill University, and an MBA from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD).

Pierre-Olivier Perras

Pierre-Olivier Perras

President

Pierre-Olivier Perras was appointed President of Power Energy in March 2019. As part of his role at Power Energy, Pierre-Olivier also serves as Chairman of the board of directors of Nautilus Solar Energy and sits on the boards of Lumenpulse Inc. and Potentia Renewables Inc.

Prior to his appointment, Pierre-Olivier spent over 20 years at BMO Capital Markets, where he held various leadership positions in the Investment and Corporate Banking Group. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Head of the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Group, where he led an international team located across North America and Europe. Pierre-Olivier spearheaded the expansion of BMO Capital Markets’ power, utilities and infrastructure practice in the United States and the launch of the European practice based in London. 

Over the years, he has advised on numerous mergers, acquisitions, and equity and debt financings, including initial public offerings for clients such as independent power producers, utilities, pension funds and infrastructure funds.

Prior to joining BMO, Pierre-Olivier was a senior consultant analyst with an actuarial consultant firm specializing in institutional pension and fringe benefits.

Pierre-Olivier holds a Master of Business Administration degree from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Sciences from Laval University. He also studied international business in the Netherlands at the Rotterdam School of Management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and completed his examinations related to the designation of Associate of the Society of Actuaries. He serves on the board of directors of Sainte-Justine Foundation.

Leslie Raenden

Leslie Raenden

Executive Vice-President

Leslie Raenden was appointed Executive Vice-President of Power Energy at the company’s inception in 2012. 

Leslie first joined the Power Corporation group in 1991. Over the years, she has held a variety of positions in finance, accounting and partnership management. Most recently, she was Executive Vice-President and Director of Power Technology Investment Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Corporation that was focused on investments in the technology and biotechnology sectors.

Before joining the Power Corporation group, she served in Deloitte’s audit department from 1986 until 1991. 

Leslie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and is a Chartered Accountant. 
 

Eric Gauthier

Eric Gauthier

Director of Investments

For the past four years, Eric Gauthier has actively participated in the investment process and implementation of ongoing value creation initiatives at Power Energy. More specifically, he has been involved with Power Energy’s various investments, including Lumenpulse, Potentia Renewables, Nautilus Solar Energy, Lion Electric Company, and Eagle Creek Renewable Energy.

As of July 2019, Mr. Gauthier will serve as Director of Corporate Development at The Lumenpulse Group, a subsidiary of Power Energy. In this role, he will be involved in Lumenpulse’s strategic planning and will be responsible for the company’s growth through acquisitions and other strategic business initiatives.

Prior to Power Energy, Mr. Gauthier also spent two years as an analyst in the corporate finance team at Power Corporation.

Mr. Gauthier holds a Bachelor of Commerce from HEC Montréal. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nautilus Solar Energy. 

Véronique Talbot

Véronique Talbot

Director of Business Development

Véronique Talbot was appointed Director of Business Development at Power Energy in April 2019. Prior to joining Power Energy, she has held various positions at Power Corporation.

Véronique joined Power Corporation in 2009 as a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Finance department, where she was involved in strategic corporate decisions, including long-term industry analysis, capital allocation and acquisitions. In 2013, she transitioned to Power Corporation’s Treasury department, most recently serving as Director, Capital Markets and Investor Relations. In this role, she led Power Corporation’s and Power Financial’s long-term financing activities and capital actions, and managed relationships with rating agencies, research analysts and shareholders.

She first started her career in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division in New York, where, as a member of the Industrial Group, she was involved in various mergers and acquisitions and a number of restructuring transactions. 

Véronique holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and is a CFA Charterholder.
